It all started when…

Ken  Cavanough nearl50 years ago started rersearch into the Cavanough ancestry . The first volume of the Cavanough Ancestry was compiled by Mrs Pat Holdorf with  bi centenary addition in 1988 . Since then a small but dedicated committe known as  " The Owen Cavanough Family Historical Society "  with archivist Sandra & Alan Woods and Pat Holdorf  has compiled a massive 7 volumes with a genealogical listing of over 13000 descendants .

Our aim is to share with our family members our hard work so that electronically they can enjoy and perhaps continue to grow our family tree , branches and twigs and share our family genealogy.

Kenneth Rueben Cavanough (AM)

Ken was the instrumental figure in the foundation of the Owen Cavanough Fellowship which became the Owen Cavanough Historical Society . His efforts over many decades provided an invaluable bank of information on the life and story of Owen Cavanough and Margaret Dowling and their descendants . Today this has been continued on by his daughter Pat Holdorf and the Owen Cavanough Historical Society Members .

Pat whose driving spirit instigated the first Bi Centenial book of the Cavanough ancestry in 1988 as the fore runner to the publication of Owen and Margarets story volume 1 and the following 6 volumes of their Childrens story and their descendants. It was her driving spirit and that of her family that provides the inpetus for the continuing production of the Cavanough Ancestry which would be one of the finest recorded family trees in Australia today.
